Critical Dictionary on Borders, Cross-Border Cooperation and European Integration
Borders are a central issue of the European Union (EU): But how do we really understand the role of borders in European Integration and how does cross-border cooperation function in the different EU border regions? The dictionary presents its main players, their motives, objectives and tools.

Les frontières constituent une thématique tout à fait centrale pour l'Union européenne (UE). Nous devons toutefois définir en un premier temps la signification concrète des frontières en ce qui concerne l'intégration européenne et nous poser la question du mode de fonctionnement de la coopération transfrontalière dans les différentes régions frontalières de l'UE. À cet effet, le “dictionary” présente les principaux acteurs de ce domaine, leurs motivations, leur objectifs et les outils qu'ils utilisent.

Based on an exhaustive analysis of the cooperation projects conducted as part of the Interreg IVA programme (2007-2013), this article helps to provide a clearer picture of the notion of cross-border territorial development and gives some examples of the results it can produce.

Am 11. Mai 2017 verabschiedete das Provinzialparlament von Limburg einen Antrag mit dem Ziel, eine engere Zusammenarbeit mit Wallonien, Flandern und Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) etablieren. Die Provinz strebt einen größeren Ermessensspielraum bei der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit an. Dieser Bericht untersucht die unterschiedlichen Optionen zur Verbesserung der rechtlichen Lage der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit und den damit verbundenen Governance-Fragen.
