Scientific support for the spatial development concept of the Greater Region (REKGR)

The scientists of the UniGR-CBS participate in the Interreg VA Großregion project "REK-GR" and work in partnership on spatially relevant topics, which are coordinated with the Coordination Committee "Spatial Development" (KARE) and the Expert Advisory Board. The cooperation is realized in written contributions (UniGR-CBS working papers "Territorial Science Echo") and in constant dialogue as well as in joint workshops in which space-relevant questions and the contents of the future spatial development concept are discussed. In November 2018, the UniGR-CBS organized a first joint workshop of its researchers with the scientific committee of the SDTGR/REKGR Interreg project and actors of the Greater Region. This workshop served to reflect the spatial development in the Greater Region from a scientific perspective. (Link to the workshop report).

In addition, researchers of the UniGR-CBS regularly take part in workshops for the preparation of the regional development concept of the Greater Region (REKGR) to which the INTERREG Projekt SDTGR/REKGR invites.

The initiated dialogue between researchers of the UniGR-CBS and actors of the Greater Region is tested in the REKGR project and is thus to be secured for the accomplishment of future tasks of spatial planning on a long-term and sustainable basis.
