3rd Border Studies seminar: Learning Border Regions - what border regions can learn from each other

The third Interreg UniGR-Center for Border Studies project's Border Studies seminar was organised by Saarland University in Saarbrücken on 23 and 24 May 2019. Some forty researchers from the UniGR's partner universities attended the event, to discuss the gripping topic of "Learning Border Regions".

On Day 1, the debate was launched by two scientific talks. Rüdiger Wink, Professor at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, gave a presentation entitled "Cross-border institutional learning: conditions, approaches and practical experiences", which was followed by a presentation given by Nadine Bernhard, a lecturer-researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin's Institute of Educational Science, entitled "Development of permeability structures between vocational training and higher education in Germany and France as a result of the Bologna and Copenhagen processes".

On Day 2, the subject was examined in more detail from a practical perspective at a round table discussion on the development of vocational training in the Greater Region as a regional learning process, which brought together experts and practitioners in the field working in the Greater Region.
