MOOCs & online-based teaching materials

In parallel to the master's program, further online-based teaching materials and formats will be produced and made available for use in teaching:

  • MOOC "Diagnozing territories beyond the borders"

This 5-week online course offers an introduction to territory diagnosis. Land surveys are required before most development operations are carried out, as well as in the process of drawing up land development strategies. They are part of a process of reflection on the potential and challenges of the territory, which is both preliminary and integrated into the action. Diagnozing territories therefore involves crossing different boundaries, for example, the boundaries between scientific disciplines, or the boundary between data analysis and participatory approaches. An original feature of this MOOC will be to also address the case of national borders, insofar as several examples will concern cross-border areas - which makes it possible to provide a renewed look at diagnostic practices.

A first session took place from February to April 2019 and a second one in 2020. The MOOC is still available on the website Fun Mooc.

Here is a teaser of the MOOC:

  • MOOC “Border Studies – an overview”

  • Teaching lessons on “Industrial History”

The contents offer both knowledge transfer for a broader interest group, as well as more in-depth thematic focuses around border studies from different disciplines.
